Tenaya Winkelman, JD, MBA
Law Clerk
Tenaya joined The Baker Law Firm as an intern during her final semester of law school and now works at the firm full-time. She has a passion for criminal defense, and she also takes pride in working on civil rights cases, particularly those involving police brutality, excessive use of force, and inadequate medical care for incarcerated individuals.
Tenaya's academic journey culminated with completing a Juris Doctor (JD) from LMU Law, graduating with honors in May 2024. An MBA, acquired from LSU Shreveport, has proven invaluable in previous roles in Marketing and Advertising during her earlier career as a Director of Digital Strategy. During law school, she was recognized for volunteer work and contributions to the Knoxville legal community. She received the 2022 Pro Bono Law Student of the Year award from Legal Aid of East Tennessee and was named the 2023 Tennessee Bar Association’s Law Student Volunteer of the Year.
Her approach to law is guided by a deep commitment to justice and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in her clients' lives. Tenaya is enthusiastic about applying her skills and knowledge to further The Baker Law Firm’s mission of delivering exceptional legal representation.
Outside the office, she enjoys a variety of hobbies, including playing Pickleball, enjoying the latest craft beers in town, attending concerts with her family, and participating in several book clubs.
Tenaya looks forward to working closely with clients and zealously advocating for them as they navigate their legal challenges.
